Back to the practice pad

Now that all the stress arising from the Frankfurt Musikmesse has calmed down I have decided to slow the writing process down a little and work on implementing many of the new exercises I have created into my own practice routine. Many of the exercises have already challenged me quite a bit which is great. I am so looking forward to the day my book is finished in order to be able to discuss some its content on this site... but that will be a while yet.
Apart from that I have just been enjoying getting used to the spring time... I just love those bright evenings :)

Returning to normal

All is returning back to normal now... My trip to the Frankfurt Musikmesse was great. I got to meet a lot of people who were a big help to me and had lots of advise for me concerning my book and the sample CD. There is still a lot of work to be done but things are really starting to take shape now which is pretty exciting! One of the highlights was getting to see my hero Horacio 'El Negro' Hernandez play with his band... a true inspiration!
Stay tuned....

Busy, busy, busy......

Sorry I haven't had a chance to write regularly recently but things are pretty busy here at beatkitchen. As before I have been working on my book most of the time... and as expected it is a hell of a lot of work - but at the same time it is a hell of a lot of fun, too :) It's a good feeling to finally get all this stuff that has accumulated in my head for the past ten years down on paper!

Apart from that I have been conducting first experiments with the freshly mixed audio for my sample CD. The results so far have been very interesting... still needs a bit of tweaking but I am excited to see the end result... in the not too distant future I hope :)
But as the wise ones said:"One thing at a time!"
... till next time xo

PS: For anyone looking to discover a great new band, I highly recommend you check out GrĂ¼vis Malt....
